Cornwall
A white clifftop hotel above a private cove on the north Cornish coast
Welcome to Porthcove
An Art Deco hotel on the cliffs above its own sandy cove, with a sea-water infinity pool, a seafood restaurant and the coast path at the end of the garden.
Lobster, crab and the day’s catch, with the Atlantic beyond the glass.
A heated sea-water pool that seems to run into the ocean.
Rock pools, surfing lessons and a beach hut café in summer.

The story
Built in 1928 for the first holidaymakers arriving on the Cornish Riviera Express, Porthcove still has its curved balconies and sun terraces. The cove below is reached by 94 steps, and is almost always ours alone.
Our fish comes in to Newlyn that morning, and our surf instructor is the fourth generation of his family to teach on this beach.
Eat and drink
A curved dining room with windows on three sides and the sea beneath. Fish from Newlyn, oysters from the Helford.

Spa
A sea-water infinity pool, a cliff-edge hot tub, and treatments using Cornish seaweed.
